27. What aspect of the books has been most poorly translated to film?
sometimes i like the movies better than the books because they've been a sort of fix-it for a lot of things. see: HERMIONE. but i suppose the one that bothers me the most is the limited scale of all magical things are mostly human. like, where the fuck are the centaurs and the creatures and the giants and the gnomes! I WANT GARDEN GNOMES AND HERMIONE TRAINING THEM TO BE BURGLAR ALARMS BECAUSE SHE'S FUCKING PARANOID FROM THE WAR AND DOESN'T REALLY THINK THE SUPER EXTRA AWESOME BRILLIANT WARDS SHE INVENTED WITH LUNA WILL HOLD. ...but that's neither here nor there. mind you i don't want a trekkian (word?) level of creature/aliens but more like a farscape and/or lotr situation where the creatures (aliens/orcs/urukhai/whathaveyou), which, harry learns the most and a lot from, methinks, is severely lacking. espesh firenze (howeveryoupellit) because he is one that goes against the system (parallels anyone?) or andromeda black who, again, goes against the system (yes, parallels) and has the gall to not only make a stand but like, rub it in the face of everything that is built against them and taking it head on with no qualms about being different and fighting for their right to exist because isn't that what the whole thing is about in the end? fighting for your right?
