Did you know and in the winter i lost my hands has a part 2? It does. It is fabulous. It is tortuous PTSD-limbo but it is oh so very brilliant. (THERE NEEDS TO BE MOAR POST-WAR HERMIONE IN THE WORLD) There's awesome R/Hr-friendship, which I just totally lurve. If I ever write a fic for my OTP, I'm going to use that fic as inspiration. I really enjoyed the way it had her and Ron just...not working. It was a non-event. They never really started to begin with. And the sadness and the weight on her shoulders even after the war was over, that was so realistic. It was all moody and angsty and just so appropriate, it sucks that fanfic has better characterizations of her creations than JKR herself. *shakes*

Did you also read the first part? Cos there's SO. MUCH. character in that one too. The internal rationalisations and the nuanced thought process, just. GUH. NO WORDS. She is a genius. Oh, JK... *iz disappoint*

You linked to the first part, I believe, and then I clicked on the tag and found the other half. ^_^ It's so beautifully written. The thing with JKR is that she has interesting concepts but a very...bland way of writing them. It never stops me in my tracks and leaves me breathless and savoring her word choices and sentence construction- that's not her forte. But that's what I love about fics like the one you linked, you re-read paragraphs because they're so achingly beautiful.

This. Exactly. I've re-read these about a dozent times over and each time I pick up something new. Like I said, there's so. much. there.

JK's a little like George Lucas that way; brilliant ideas, less than stellar execution. *iz puzzled* (This is why I like teamy goodness, it takes something good and makes it even greater.)
