Bitter Hatred? You Betcha!

Well now, THAT was a wonderful retelling of The Two Towers. Oh, no. This is Merlin.

LOVE the new OMG!CAUGHT and MUA!HAHAHA! faces from Katie. LOVE IT. I need those screen caps to makey iconses.

Um, is there anyone else not seeing this whole hypocrisy thing coming from Merlin?! If nothing else, his revealing that he has magic would have saved Morgana from her bitter hate... hell, he could even teach her The Force. He's a terrible Yoda. ...I guess cos he had such a terrible, inconsistent Yoda in Gaius. Why, exactly would they be surprised by her treatment of them? Gaius had suspicions, and or probably knew Morgana was from a magic family cos HELLO Golois is her father... well, we haven't gotten to that part yet in this retelling... but if Gaius had an inkling of what was going on with Morgana and was a true warlock/healer he wouldn't have tried to suppress her nature. He would've been Giles. The best Watcher ever. Merlin tried to kill her. So now Morgana tries to kill him. Turnabout is fair play, sir. Fair play! See, this is why I don't like secrets. It unnecessarily gives people ulcers and/or death. Wow, I'm in such a bad place right now I should stop... Basically, I love Morgana because I know what it's like to be in a situation like hers. All that rage and hurt can only come out in the form of bitter vengeance and hatred when everything that you trust and cherish has been a complete total lie. Betrayal is not something lightly taken. And damn it feels good to have your day of justice.

Then I have to remember that Morgana started as a healer and then became demonised by a great many tellings because someone needed to be the Big Bad in this chauvinistic legendy myth thingy. Those cop out bastards. Eventually somebody came along and corrected that though and gave her one last grace note of taking Arthur to Avalon. And then Marion Zimmer Bradley gave us the awesome side of the story. I should seriously re-read that to calm me down.

In other news, I think we might have a new kitty... it's kind of a mutual adoption. He's a cutie, no more than three months old and all black and he lurks in the shadows. I've put out some food and he's come back. A few more times and he should be more approachable. We'll see. Every witch needs her familiar.
