Sitting in a waiting room gives you lots of time to observe and report. There are a few things one can do in a holding pattern. Most sit and worriedly shake a leg in anxiety. Some flip through a mag to distract from the situation. Few are nonchalant and carry hushed conversation in an effort to lighten the mood. There are those that go into an almost catatonic state withdrawing like a turtle under threat. Others are oblivious to what's going on which, in itself, can be a good thing. Another approach is outright defiance. Daring the consequences to take you on. Denying the bad to affect your state, defying death to take what is yours. Fighting against the odds.
Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
