This dedicated meatasaurous has decided to become a fishatarian. 'A fishatarian?', you may ask. 'Why not a vegetarian or vegan all together?' The facts are these: I was watching a documentary entitled Brother's Keeper. A 1992 film exploring the murder trial of Delbert Ward. He was accused of murdering his brother Bill while he slept to end his suffering. To illustrate the difference between cruelty and mercy, malicious intent and accident a scene depicting the slaughtering of a pig was included.

Being witness to this animal fighting for its life while men stood by drove me to tears. The Bro came home through the door and thought someone died which, in all likelihood, may very well have happened (more on that later, in a separate post). I explained to him tearfully what I had just witnessed and made a decision to swear off all land based mammals with a face. That includes you vivalatiger. You can have me when 2012 comes around... you know after Shammy and all those others on your list. I've seen and participated in how fish and other creatures from the sea are caught, cleaned, cooked and served and it was never so cruel.

Now, as if my foodie life wasn't already a struggle, I have solemnly sworn as my new life goal, to become a fisha/vega/fruitatarian. So, hit me with your recipes people! I know I can do it with a little bit of help.

That's totally awesome. I'm not going entirely vegan, because I don't wanna take supplements. But I barely eat meat or fish. We can't make fish at home, because my mum is allergic to it. Our dairy products are almost all organic, so I hope the animals have a better life, but I now it's not the best solution... Go, Shar, go! *cheers you on*

Thanks for the support! *tackle hugs* I couldn't go vegan either. With my celiac's it'd be just enough to push me over into only eating grass. Variety is the spice of life, right? I'm already switched over to almond/soy/alternative dairies so it won't be that drastic of a change.
