Faith is all strength and independence on the outside when in reality behind the tough veneer lays all the signs of an abused woman. She purposefully repels feelings and people away to protect herself from being taken advantage of. Kinda like a sea urchin all prickly on the outside to protect the soft insides. She's brash. She's overtly sexual. She hates being vulnerable. She's scared. Lonely. Always wanting more. Always struggling to find her place. To belong. To be wanted for more than her body or what she can do. She's searching for that something that will make her feel comfortable in her own skin. Something to bring her peace. The thing that Angel brings to her is the realisation that it starts from within. She has to create it.
Angel is, well, you know, Angel. All broody, repentanty and been there, done that side of Faith with the having of a soul that could go awry any time. He's like a maladjusted alcoholic in forever rehab. He's the only one to get through to her and rightfully so. This is the thing I love about them tho, it can be Faith/Angel, Faith/Angelus OR Faith,Angel. Any of those options? Totally works for me.
Cos, damn if she doesn't make you cry. Best. Effin. Fight. EVAR!
I've been down so low
People look at me and they know
They can tell something is wrong
Like I don't belong
Staring through a window
Standing outside, they're just too happy to care tonight
I want to be like them
But I'll mess it up again
I tripped on my way in
And got kicked outside, everybody saw...
And I know that it's a wonderful world
But I can't feel it right now
Well I thought that I was doing well
But I just want to cry now
Well I know that it's a wonderful world
From the sky down to the sea
But I can only see it when you're here, here with me...
