Juliet MUTHAFRAKKIN Burke/Jack Shepard/Kate Austin/James 'Sawyer' Ford - Lost
NONE of this worked out the way I wanted it to. Kate started off as a cool cat but then quickly became this whiny indecisive brat. Ugh. WHY would anyone want to be with that?!? WHY?!?!?! I can see Sawyer being attracted to that because hey, crazy convict chick is right up his alley and they could do some damage. Bonnie and Clyde, baby. And yes, Jack was in his 'must fix everything broken' phase so I can see why he'd be attracted to that. But then the most AWESOMEST BADASS FREAKING EPICLY EPIC GENIUS HBIC to ever grace this show was introduced to Jack and thereby, us. Holy hell who is this mysterious hottie with shady intentions but wondrously good guy actions? SHE IS INTRIGUING AND I WANT TO KNOW MORE. And so did Jack. And it was AWESOME. SO AWESOME and brilliant and a meeting of minds and a flirty teasing and hotness. Of course, Kate/Sawyer was hotness too and I'm fine with that. They kind of deserve each other. I am most happy for them to be together in their bear cages whilst Jack and Juliet get their crazy awesome chemistry on. Juliet was the only one who called Jack on his shit and I LOVED THAT. There was a balance and omg the possibility, with which we were teased mercilessly in season 6. Oh! They could be great together. *sigh* But yeah, it didn't go that way. I am sorely disappointed and heartbroken. I shall forever live upon the beautiful shores of the Nile in the land of Fanon.

Day 28 - A pairing that you will never understand?

Day 30 - Your favorite ship forever and ever and ever!

All I can say is I agree. Jack wanted to fix Kate, that's not romance that's neurosis!

...I actually liked Juliet and Sawyer in the last few episodes. But I think that is mainly because I hate Jack SO much and didn't want him with anyone.
Kate did go from wonderful to whiny...

Oh, Jack... he did get a lot of hate towards the end. I think it was because TPTBs didn't really have a clear direction for him so he reflected their flailing about and their epic fail. But that's why I LOVED him with Juliet! She made him man up a little bit and he wasn't as grating. I like when characters can do that with other characters IE: Buffy and Spike. With Spike around I can handle Buffy. Without him? *shrug* Eh.

And KATE! Yeesh, that went sour really quickly for me. *headdesk*

Agree.

COMPLETELY AGREE.

S3 & 4 FTMFW! HELLS YES! Them being similar to one another was a hell of a lot more believable for me though. I liked that they kinda struck the same chords but were different enough that it reminded me of harmony in a song instead of that off-key cacophony of mess that was Kate/Jack. *ew face*

Juliet/Sawyer was like rebound city IMO. That 'love the one you're with' mantra. It just... I don't know... like it was convenient for both of them so they each figured, 'what the hell, why not?!'. So I didn't buy into it at the very end where it was all SOUL MATES HAVE BEEN SOUL'D!!!! Feh. I think that Juliet as a single entity was proof that woman can be without man and find fulfillment. But the fact that she still yearned for that because she was, in truth, a person with needs made me love her even more. OH, THE HUMANITY!! Can you imagine if Juliet was a top mercenary being all badass!merc and Sayid was assigned to hunt her down but was really a rogue agent?! CAN YOU IMAGINE?!?!?!

Jack/Kate works very well as allies and partners... Kinda like how I view Kara/Lee. I don't like them being all romantically involved but I LOVE their buddy!system of pwnage. That was cool.

Because they were both RIGHTEOUS BABES! ...who then got their licenses revoked for moving violations.

IS there a fic like that out there? There has to be right? I can't be the first person that thought of that scenario... *debates on a fic hunt* cos I can't really handle anything bigger than SVU fic right now... oi, exhausting.

ITA. It's so baffling to me why some people still don't see the hotness. These two had more chemistry, imo, than any of the other pairings, even though they had the least opportunity for it (because, unlike all of the other combinations, they never became an official couple). I mean, come on-- the two scenes they had in S5, the reunion and the shower scene--had no real reason to be hot, and yet they totally were.

And you're so right about them as a match for each other. One of the things I loved about the 'ship was how close the actors were in age to one another(which is so unfortunately rare on television, with its love for the daddy/daughter thing).

WORD on the age thing. WTH?! Not every woman has daddy issues. That's kinda why I like Olivia/Elliot from SVU too. Age appropriateness? Yes, please!

For me it was the unknowing about where they were going with them and what were the motivations and why would ones actions affect the other in ways that weren't expected. That made it tasty and lovely. I think those two scenes were hot because they connected first as people and then as man and woman. With Juliet/Jack they recognised they were man and woman and could possibly do man/woman things to/with/for each other but only after they unintentionally hurt the other and were sorry for it. Whereas all the other permutations of this heinous quadrangle was pretty much all about sex or survival... or survival sex. Basically, selfishly using one another to fulfill their own needs. LAME.
